HRC Phone Bank to Main Voters
On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8:30pm the HRC needs our help to make calls to Maine voters. Our opponents are attempting to repeal a state law that will allow Maine residents to enter into same-sex marriages. We have lost 34 times at the ballot box – including Prop 8 in CA — but Maine could be our first win! The HRC will provide dinner for all volunteers. "So, what's going on tonight?" Seems to be the question we ask ourselves far too often. There are always so many things going on, but finding out what is REALLY going on tends to be the problem. You either have to go to all the bars, try to go through the various local papers and GLBT Magazines, attempt to visit the website for each bar (if they even have one) yet still fall short of all the city has to offer. The other half to this equation is all the non-bar related events including fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, theater and all kinds of other recreational activities to choose from. So if you are "sick of the bar scene" you now know where to look. DC Gay Nightlife isn't just bars and clubs because the gay scene is bigger and more inclusive than you might think!
